Team Hybrid did well at
Naga ( we're listed as Hybrid MA ) We had 5 competitors and took home 3 first place wins in the no gi divisions and 3 second places in the gi divisions.
Jody Morgan - Took first in no gi beginner welterweight with something like 6 fights I think? He took 2nd in welterweight adult white belt with an equal number of fights. I didn't get to see all of his matches but he was very dominating when I did get to see them.
Chris Buckner - Took first in intermediate feather weight no gi, interesting to note Kit Phoutsen (sp?) was second. Kits another local fighter. Chris also took second in gi whitebelt with a hole in his face. He literally had his teeth puch through his lower lip and superglued it back together so he could continue.
Scott Horne - Took first in no gi masters welter weight and second in gi division. ( Thats me ) Even though I took first in the no gi, I hated my performance, they were barely wins. The gi division was better for me. My judo training came through and I threw my second opponent decisively, escaped his several sub attempts ( he came close to choking unconcious ) and won via points in a dominate side control position. Last round my throws didn't work and I wound up stuck in north south and got tooled.. lol.. lost to a baseball choke.
Other competitors were Ian and Danny. Ian won the first round and lost the second. Danny... dunno what happened didn't see it I think he lost by a point?
